Dear Friends and Supporters,

AmandaMany of you will have heard of the sudden death of CKA Trustee and my dear friend Amanda Brisbane. On March 4th 2016, Amanda was found dead in her hotel room in Dubai where she was working on a glass installation. Amanda was 51.

Our Trustees, Patrons and supporters are people of huge and varied gifts. Living locally, Amanda was able to advise and serve on the selection team whenever her packed schedule allowed.

Her funeral was held on 31st March. On behalf of you all I sent a floral tribute. I was deeply moved to find that Amanda’s family and loved ones divided proceeds of the collection made at her funeral between Caitlin’s Kickstart Award and Midlands Air Ambulance.

I also attach a photo of the one-off glass figurine Amanda crafted for the recipient of our first CKA Award for Outstanding Achievement. Pictured with the CKA ANGEL are, left to right, Georgina Stone, Sophie Hayter [2014 recipient], and Georgina Hall. If you

P.S.
I am proud to say that our new website has been built by graphic designer Joel Stone, 2005 recipient of CKA! Check out his company link.

P.P.S.
We have also moved the 2016 selection date forward. The team will be meeting 2 pm Friday 13th May at Ludlow College. If any of you are free at that time I invite you to join the selection team to assist in the difficult but inspiring process of choosing this year’s Caitlin’s Kickstart Award.
